Special Sunday Events in June

Connection Cafe - Sunday, June 2nd at 6:00 pm. All new attendees to Turnpike Wesleyan Church are welcome to come to meet the pastoral family and to learn more about the mission, vision and purpose of the church. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Leadership Training Event - Sunday, June 9th at 6:00 pm. This is an opportunity to to equip and train our church leaders and ministry teams.

Guest Speaker - Sunday, June 23rd at 8:45 and 10:30 am. Wycliffe missionary Mark Taber and his family will be sharing the amazing things God has done and unreached peoples God has redeemed  through the ministry of Bible translation.

Graduation Recognition Sunday - Sunday, June 23rd at 8:45 and 10:30 am. We will be recognizing both High School and College graduates with a special love gift of appreciation.



Memorial Sunday

We will be honoring all those who have served or are presently serving in any branch of the armed forces. Each veteran will receive a special certificate of honor and appreciation. We will be presenting these awards in both our 8:45 and 10:30 am worship services.

Communion Sunday

We will be partaking in the Lord's Supper on May 19th in both the 8:45 and 10:30 am worship services. Sunday's sermon is entitled, "The Bread of Life" and we will be looking at John chapter 6. The worship and message will intentionally prepare us to receive this sacred sacrament.

Hanging of the Greens

Once again we will have a “Hanging of the Greens” worship service. So, instead of just decorating the church for Advent, we will be giving meaning and purpose to this activity - making it a teaching tool and a learning experience. Our service will begin at 5:00 pm and will include carols, Scripture narration, and special music. 

Following the service, we will enjoy soup & sandwiches downstairs in the fellowship hall.

Communion Sunday

We will be partaking in the Lord's Supper on Sunday, December 9th in both the 8:45 & 10:30 am worship services. As we journey through this Advent season together, may we be ever so mindful of the fact that Christmas cost God everything ... for the baby in the manger soon became the man on the cross.

Christmas Worship Services

On December 23rd we will be celebrating Christmas through an unique worship experience featuring carols, special music, and a message on the meaning and significance of Christmas - that Jesus is the reason for the season. 

Our worship hours for this Sunday will be 8:45 am and 10:30 am. We will also be providing both nursery care and children’s worship in our services.

Children's Christmas Pageant

On Sunday night, December 23rd, at 6:00 pm our children ministry will be putting on a Christmas Nativity Pageant with wise men, sheep, shepherds, angels and, of course,  Mary & Joseph. 

Candlelight Service

We will be having a Christmas Eve Candlelight service on December 24th at 6:00 pm. This year’s theme is “The Wonders of His Love.” The night will be filled with Christmas favorites, Bible readings, special musical selections and Christmas narrations.

Mission Service

Missionary Romy Caringal will be our guest on November 4th. He will be sharing what God is doing in Nepal and in other areas connected with Global Partners (our mission outreach department). Romy will be speaking in the Sunday evening service at 5:30 pm.

Harvest Celebration & Banquet

We will be having a combined worship service on November 18, 2012 beginning at 10:00 am. There will be no 8:45 am worship or Life Groups on this day, however, our 10:00 am service will include special music, an object lesson or two and a thanksgiving message by Pastor Mesel. 

Following the service we will enjoy a complete Thanksgiving dinner in our fellowship hall. So mark your calendars and be sure to invite a friend or two to join you for this day of celebration and praise.
