Our Pastors

Rev. Norman Mesel

Norm Mesel – I am married to Penny (Smalley) Mesel and we been married for 34 years. Penny and I have four children: Clairees (married to Scott Semchenko), Jedediah (married to Jamie Dombek), Jennette (married to Mark Gardner) and Caroline.

I have served the Wesleyan Church for 34 years and prior to moving to Plattsburgh, NY to pastor Turnpike Wesleyan Church, I ministered in Rogers, Arkansas for two years and in Ellington, Connecticut for 15 years.

Penny and I are now beginning our fourth year here at the Turnpike Wesleyan Church and consider it a privilege to be part of the Eastern New York/New England District.

As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just need to talk.

*In March we will begin a new Life Group entitled, “Righteous Words.” This group will be facilitated by Dick & Grace Adams and will take place at the church. Check back soon as we will post more information about this Life Group on our Small Groups page.

Rev. Judy Pribis – Congregational Care Pastor

My name is Judy Pribis. I graduated from United Wesleyan College in Allentown, PA with a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry. I have served the Lord at the West Chazy Wesleyan Church, Turnpike Wesleyan Church as assistant under both Pastor Ralph Chapman and Pastor Norm Mesel, and briefly as interim pastor at the Plattsburgh Elizabeth Street Wesleyan Church. I am currently serving as Congregational Care Pastor here at Turnpike.

My responsibilities include oversight of a ministry team that sends cards, makes hospital visits, and calls on the elderly, shut-in, and those who need encouragement. We also contact those who are not in attendance at church services on a regular basis.

I also lead several Life Groups — Growing in Grace which meets on Sunday mornings during the 8:45 AM worship service, Women of God which meets on Thursday afternoons at 1:00 PM at the church, and a Bible Study at the Vilas Home (a local assisted-living home in Plattsburgh) on Tuesdays. Please see the page on Life Groups to see what we are currently studying. I also lead the Sunday evening praise and worship service.

I also write Advent and Lenten devotionals to help us to keep our focus on Jesus Christ during these busy times of celebration as well as to help us to go deeper in our spiritual lives.

I oversee the distribution and collection of shoeboxes for an outreach ministry called Operation Christmas Child which goes into other countries and gives gifts and the Gospel to children in need.

I also assist Pastor Norm Mesel whenever and wherever he needs me.

Turnpike Wesleyan exists to honor God by making more disciples for Jesus Christ. We endeavor to do this by connecting through worship, growing through Life groups and serving in community & ministry projects.
